Some people just want the authentic log home. The logs used here were hand-hewn, not uniform; but fitted together and chinked. Faux stone was used to save a little money, but when the skirting around the deck was added, this was no longer evident.
Structural trusses were also made from solid logs and sized and graded to leverage the spans they supported.
Windows surrounded the vaulted Great Room to allow natural light to flood in and a clawfoot tub set the stage in the bathroom.
The arched log openings and supports softened an already warm home.
