Woodfield Basement
Think a transitional style basement boasting textural, plush, and varied textiles yet keeping each space grounded with subtle coordination. The key here is to be varied and look for common denominators that will make everything work together seamlessly without being too similar.
The clients wanted to define areas in this basement remodel for entertaining as well as for everyday living. They wanted the space to feel warm and inviting. The electric fireplace is the focal piece and adds needed warmth to the basement. The stacked stone surround brings an element of texture and the blue accent wall color an element of fun. The rest of the walls are a neutral non- gray hue that bounces off light to allow for the basement to feel spacious and open since there is only one small window that allows for natural light to enter.
The floors, doors, and trim are a warm wood tone that tie all the spaces together and pushes the eye to move around the room rather than remaining locked on one single element. The board and batten adds another visual interest throughout the space and up the stairs adding another layering mix of the different design elements.
