The open floor plan of this kitchen remodeling project gave us the opportunity to add a comfortable seating and eating area to the island. We used slabs of glass for the backsplash to support the vent hood and suspended island cabinet. Using the see-through slabs of glass instead of a solid backsplash allows the cook to interact with the rest of the kitchen.
