Designed to both reflect the site and needs of the client, the pool house was constructed with great detail. Our client, a designer in the electronic game industry, asked for a fun and modern building. Colored concrete was used for the shell of thick battered walls that settle the structure gently within the natural slope. Facing the pool, the façade is made of pivoting glass panel doors. When opened, the scissor-shaped steel roof and trellis appear to float above the pool house, hinging on a clerestory of glass. Handcrafted natural materials and finishes selected to be both durable an attractive. The centerpiece is the indoor - outdoor island. It is the social center of the pool area and includes a large barbeque, refrigerator, ice maker, sink, storage, and counter. The stainless steel base and concrete top were selected for their durability. The trapezoid shape mimics the pool’s geometry.
