Unlike the USA, most countries don't treat their eggs with chemicals. The chemicals clean the eggs but remove the shell's ability to keep the contents fresh. If you don't treat eggs, they last a long time at room temperature.

Eggs that are not scrubbed clean can hold at a cool room temp for quite a while, especially if you rub a little vegetable oil on the shell after rinsing the dirt off in warm water. If you don't rub oil on them, eventually they will start to dry out, which makes them float- they don't float because they are rotten! I clean my eggs with trader joe vegetable based produce cleaner to get the dirt off before putting them in the fridge, but i will let them sit in a basket on my counter for up to three weeks first. If they get used quickly, they just get a quick wash before I use them at room temp. If I have a lot, they get cleaned and put in the fridge to make them last longer.

Fisher & Paykel 23230 RF540ADUX2 fridge freezer. Hope this helps.
