I am going with a simple door but not quite shaker...it has a little detail around the frame part on the inside then a flat panel in the center. It dresses it up just a little but still very simple so it won't look too busy but also won't look cheap or too contemporary in white like a plain shaker has a possibility to look. I can now dress it up more with hardware if I want but can also use really simple hardware and it will look great as well. Plus with nice counters and crown moulding it will be perfect. I am going with plain white but its still a soft white not too blue. Off white/cream is more difficult with counters and furniture and other stuff. Plain white goes with everything.

I am also going with a cabinet that is not quite shaker for all the same reasons. I am fairly certain I will have them painted Benjamin White Dove which is a creamy white. The cabinets need to math Viaterra Aria Quartz countertops. Probably going with simple hardware. Have purchased brushed nickel pendants in an industrial look. Since the kitchen is open to the Great Room I have to have colors that will blend with the taupe and navy I plan to use there. I am open to suggestions though. It is a new house and we are just starting construction - have been planning for about 9 months though. It is so hard making all these decisions!

I swear to you this "exact" kitchen is on pg. 78 of the Summer 2014 Kitchen + Bath Ideas Better Homes and Gardens magazine. They state cabinets are from Ultracraft.com Glass with Cherry Chestnut frames in Beach White.

No problem with stains but need to seal it. Since it is marble & honed, can see water spots or rings from moisture on glasses if you don't put something underneath. Polished marble is worse though for seeing water stains. Beautiful though!!!!

Backsplash is the same as the countertop but due to natural color variation and movement in natural stone it can appear different. Both the countertop and backsplash can be found at your local natural stone supplier. Keep in mind due to natural variation created by the earth slabs can and will not look exactly as shown in this installation. The material is a marble which is more susceptible to staining and will etch. A fine installation in a kitchen but education and proper expectations of the performance of a marble are key.

We make an ebony finished white oak floor thats very dark, we can even wire brush it to show the natural grain. Really high grade floors you see on Houzz are often custom.

The white colour is OC-65 Chantilly lace by Benjamin Moore. The dark stain used on the island and cabinets was custom.

To the ceiling is 10 feet, we then customized the drop ceiling detail to fit this clients home, it was roughly a 1 foot drop.
