I have the white quartz in kitchen and bath...it is hard and doesn't stain, but because of the aggregate nature, it can chip if hit just right.

Snow Quartz is a quartzite. A natural stone quarried and cut from stone blocks into slabs. This particular quartzite has a crystalline appearance and translucent qualities that make it popular for back lit projects. I originally asked this question as our new countertop had a seam. When we complained, it was replaced with no seam. Yours may be different but ours had a seam because the installer had made a mistake.
