Was the downdraft vented through the floor and out the wall? We have the exact situation ...a 14 foot peaked ceiling over the gas stove in the island. The downdraft has to be dug into the ground close to a foot deep...but we have concrete slab foundation!!! $$$ California code does not specify requirements for down draft and we have many windows. I'm installing a large fan at the peak.

It's hard to see exactly where these lights come from, but they look very similar to either our
