Sydorcaro - you can buy specific "above the stove" microwaves. The microwave unit usually includes a vent fan for the stove.

I was planning on putting in a dishwasher also but have been discouraged by some people saying that if you don't use it a few times a month it will stop working... I know these things break if not used... what do you guys think?

I have a 24" standard dishwasher in the Bar area of our walkout basement. Have had it for 7 yrs. & only use it once a year. No problems. No leaking. (It's a Kenmore).

Cabinets are custom made by Old World Kitchens & Custom Cabinets. It's a shaker style door with a custom stain.
