After some time beach-combing and acquiring enough cool pieces of flat driftwood, I created this cool coastal-style driftwood headboard for a doting client's beach house.

We used a support beam (I believe it was a thin 2x1 or similar) to stretch at two points across the back (upper and lower portion); that's what we attached the driftwood boards to. It is then bolted to the back of the bed. Good luck!
