The cabinet makers do tend to make this an issue. I had to do one mounted higher than I liked as well, but I was still happy with it.

Thanks Posh. If I didn't have so many things go wrong with this renovation I may have taken a chance and installed it as you did in the above design. It actually still looks really nice installed higher, you just lose the convenience of wiping crumbs right into the sink. I was also concerned instaling it hgher because the sink is on the island and the back of it is seen from the connected breakfast room.

Hi! and thankyou! No, it was a new build but I wanted it to look aged. The kitchen company is called Getaz and is Swiss. Most of their product's are very modern...so they worked with me to find a way to make the fan more traditional/ cottagy. The edging is a faux white wood beam that adds another texture to the mainly white finishes.
Thanks again for the compliment!

Is that kind of sink easy to clean? High maintenance?

Hello!
The handle's are actually from Ikea, in Switzerland, but I am sure all Ikea store's would have the same!
Cheers and happy shopping

Love this kitchen! It's given me a lot of ideas! Never seen cabinets opening bottom to top & visa versa. How do they stay up? What brand are they? You said they weren't painted & have a shiny surface. How are they finished? What are they made of? Lastly, what is that gorgeous floor? Any details would be much appreciated. Thank you!

Hi, yes the sign is actually from Winners! I bought on a trip back home. I just hammered tiny nails into the grout to hang it! :)

Futuro Futuro Kitchen Range Hoods
@ beehivebeehive: custom range hoods are made by a large variety of makers and artisans. Quite often, your kitchen cabinet maker / kitchen builder, in addition to building the cabinets, can also manufacture a hood "shell". The internal works of such a hood are provided by a "hood insert", which is a fully functional range hood package without the outer body. Pre-manufactured range hood insert + custom-built hood body = powerful kitchen hood.
Another alternative is to look for pre-made complete hoods that are designed to be paintable and customizable. For example, the Futuro Futuro "Classic Collection" range hoods feature coated metal bodies that can be painted to match your kitchen (or left in their original white color), and solid wood frames that can be stained to match the cabinetry. Some examples are attached below. Please feel free to visit our website for more information, pricing, multiple photos, and technical specifications:

Hi there, sorry no they are not painted, it is a shiny finish and it is pure white, but I love that. I think it is better to go pure white or a true buttery cream color...otherwise anything in between can look washed out! and it depends on what you are contrasting it with? The white I think is so clean against the honey tones of the wood and marble. Good luck with your kitchen!

The countetops are marble, purchased in Switzerland but any marble with a honey tone would work!
