Hello! The sink and metal cabinet underneath it are one unit, originally from Montgomery Ward and yes, from the 1940's! The other cabinets are wood and also original to the house and I just painted them. How fun that you are considering a 1940's house.

Speaking of paint, pastel shades in the kitchen automatically make you think of times gone by, particularly when it comes to cabinetry and appliances. Mint green, mellow yellow, pretty pink and sky blue can give a modern kitchen a distinct retro edge.
