Yes, the cabinet shop used alder wood, we do not have a record of the stain they used to match the control sample.

The local cabinet shop built the hood surround and then our decorative painter applied some creative enhancements to give it a worn and dull lead metal look.

The hood surround is made of wood and then we had our decorative painter come in and give it a metal look with some distressing. You can see some of the details better in this photo:
