Lynsey thank you for your question. We offer our beetle kill pine 3 ways: un-finished, pre-finished with multiple coats of oil based varnish, or pre-finished with multiple coats of our water based clear finish. Here's the difference; un-finished will need to be sealed by the home owner with the product of their choice. Pre-finished with our clear oil based varnish will really "pop" the natural color but also tends to yellow over time. Pre-finished with our water based clear finish doesn't "pop" the natural color as much as the oil, but helps mitigate the yellowing over time. The most popular of the 3 choices is our water based finish.

One full beetle kill wall

There was no stain applied to this ceiling. This is our all natural beetle kill pine paneling. However we did apply a clear water based finish coat. If you have any other questions just let us know.
