Yes, the stone used on this project is a regional favorite, Harlowton Stone. Structural support was planned for this element early on, so you are correct, there is more supporting this than the countertop.

I have searched everywhere for Harlowton Stone-can't find a yard that has it or has ever heard of it! Can you share you source for this gorgeous rock?

It is always key to using the recommended vent size per the size of your range. Vent-a-Hood is a popular brand that can be easily concealed within custom hoods.

What is the hood mounted on inside the rock? We are in San Antonio and stalled for a weeks because no one can figure out how to mount the hood! Ours will have a masonry surround like this one.

I love how you pulled off wood floors with wood countertops, dark countertops and stone and the room doesn't look over done. Can you tell me about your wood flooring? Species and color/ stain?

Thank you! The interior of the stove / hood is actually lined with vintage iron cookie sheets so the maintenance is easy. Having a the proper exhaust fan for the range model is also key in these installations. Good luck with your project!

This vintage fixture has the original black enamel paint finish on the exterior. We darkened the interior of the fixture to avoid "blowing out" the light over the island. It was originally a bright white and it was blinding to do work underneath it.

The cabinetry package in this kitchen is oak. Honestly, we do not have the exact stain formula, the workshop matched a control sample we provided.
