1840's Stone Home Addition

This home, constructed of stone in the 1840's, was ready for a change to make it work for the owner's lifestyle while retaining its classic charm. The kitchen was moved from a small, isolated room to the former living room, where it was combined with a dining area for open concept living. The former dining room became the living room, and the former kitchen was just the right size for the new master bedroom. An attached mud room / storage room was replaced with a new laundry / mud room / bathroom addition.

The stairway was relocated and the upstairs largely remodeled to gain a family room / play room for the children, exposing the original stone structure and opening a clerestory window to the stairway.

The remodeling work was performed by Bill Lenerz Construction of Sauk City, Wisconsin.
