1940's Farmhouse remodel
Mother in law suite in 1940's farmhouse. Several remodelers had abandoned this client and left the site in shambles, a total mess as seen in the first day picture. Our mission was to restore this area and re-use as much as the existing materials as possible. We closed up one window using leftover tongue and groove boards from the exterior of the home. These same boards were fabricated into the baseboards, window casings, and door trim. The 80 year old hardwood floors were sanded and refinished. A new vanity and shower enclosure was installed as well as all new windows and doors. Those Items we could not repurpose and they had to be new. The client was extremely happy with the end product as his elderly mother is planning on moving into the suite and she will now have a livable bedroom, bathroom, and deck to sit and relax on. This project was a great experience. We love bringing the sunshine back into a home. This home is 80 years old. We not only brought in the sunshine but we were able to save many of the homes existing materials which give the place so much character and charm.
