When our client purchased this 1940's cottage in the historic Peter's Gate neighborhood of Old Monterey, they inherited a bad 80s remodel that had been added to the back of the home. We gutted the old blue kitchen and converted the space into an airy dining room with a built-in hutch. The existing family room with tile floors and sliding glass doors became a spacious kitchen with wood floors, a large central island and a walk in pantry/laundry room. By pushing a portion of the back wall out 3 feet, we created a cozy built-in breakfast nook with a dutch door opening onto an added back porch and series of brick bordered patios.
Note: We decided to shoot this home before the clients moved in. The refrigerator panels and handles were not yet installed in these shots.
