An economical example of a custom prefab project as a part time residence. With limited use the building needs to be secure, and safe from damage during strong North Eastern storms that rip across the bay. Simple forms, clean lines and a minimalist exterior front entry conceal the owners activities inside while the open windows to the back take in views and light.To keep costs low and completion times short, the architect designed a 3/4inch plywood floor over steel joists that are pre-punched for utilities.
Hurricane Rated Wind Loads to 120MPH as well as ultra-energy efficient roof and wall panels that are an evolution of the commercial cooler industry.
