These clients value outdoor living space and sought to incorporate it with the natural wooded setting in their back yard. The design incorporates an organic symmetry in which the formal elements both embrace and oppose one another, creating a dynamic space. The heavily ferrous stone tiles on the covered porch are echoed in the copper tubing in the handrails, just as the lines of the deck and stone patio reference the line seperating the cultivated portion of the back yard and the wooded area.
