This project was to assist a couple in determining what changes could be made to assist them to remain (age in place) in their longtime home. The biggest obstacle was the master bath that does not provide proper accessible clearances. A new modified layout was proposed that provides a no-threshold shower, grab bars around the toilet, a walk-in closet, and proper clearances around the toilet and shower. To accompany the drawing, a full report was conducted on the home that provided suggestions on everything from the front entry to the door hardware to improve the ability to age in place.
