Alligator Creek is a completely off-grid house located on a 60-acre prairie preserve. Drawing inspiration from Japanese architecture and Texas vernacular construction, the design is reminiscent of a farmhouse with Japanese-style bays. The project contains an 18,000 gallon cistern integrated into the foundation for on-site waste water management and the house is naturally ventilated with high performance operable skylights that capture prevailing winds.
