This is the setting of this 1920's Mediterranean home with vaulted beamed ceilings, intricate frieze moldings, and a grand stone fireplace.

With a new, updated kitchen and family room addition, the interiors of the home were ready for a fresh, updated look. Playing off the unique architecture and embellishing it where needed; fresh colors, furniture, rugs and window coverings were selected. The challenge was to enhance the home's elegant architecture while making every fabric and furniture choice family friendly, able to withstand the wear and tear of young children. Sofa's covered in sturdy chenille and linen velvets allowed for active children's play, printed fabrics that hide crayon marks decorate the chairs, old world distressed furniture stands up to nightly homework projects.

Mixing in fresh interpretations of Hollywood Glamour styled furniture kept the rooms young and alive. Many nights you will find the family playing a game on the center table in the living room, framed by an elegant window overlooking the garden. Other times you'll find them wrestling on the soft wool area rugs.

The family is certainly comfortable really living in any room of this house and loves the elegant, fresh approachable ambiance of their home.
