Architectural Privacy Screen in Clark County
The Architectural Privacy Screen was a dream of the homeowner that was first brought to life by Darcy Daniels of Bloomtown Gardens ( www.bloomtown.net) in her drawing. With the homeowner, Darcy Daniels and myself came up with the curving pattern of 1/4" by 4" steel flat bars that rises and falls in height in between the basalt pillars. The 1/4" by 4" flat bars are welded together in the ground and back filled concrete that is covered with land scarping so that all one sees is the flat bar coming out of the ground with no visible supports. This method of construction is a very rugged structural method to build the privacy screen. The privacy screen gives a visual illusion of movement as you walk by. When your inside of the yard it is easy to forget how close you are to the street. As the light changes throughout the day the shadows move. On one very foggy day, I was delightfully surprised by the fog that was being moved by a slow breeze; it seemed to be dancing through the privacy screen.
