In this 1930’s South Hampton home, the owner challenged this design team to design an interior space that could transition between the original integrity of the house and his more contemporary style. Reflecting the client’s personality, a clean, gallery-like style was introduced throughout the home to create a crisp backdrop for his extensive art collection. A range of new lighting created a variety of effects to highlight the artwork. The serene upholstery fabrics were accessorized with bold accents and grounded with custom rugs. The brick fireplace received a decorative finish to complement the muted hues of the new interior yet keeping its original integrity. The small bathroom draws you in with a linear band of glass tiles running throughout the space. The linear nature is extended to the decorative glass used in the shower doors and windows. The overall aesthetic resulted in a museum quality palette with the comfort and warmth of a traditional urban home.
