Austin Hillside Estate

An estate in north Austin nestled into a hillside. Scope of work included entry area, front yard and backyard areas, as well as on site interaction with the landscape contractor and owner. Stunning views were preserved throughout the property due to strong landscape design.

A painted steel gate and steel planters anchor the formal entry to this estate. While the anchoring features are masculine and bold, free flowing plant materials soften up the entry space. Synthetic lawn and gravel bands provide maintenance free interest on the ground plane.

Front entry to the residence is created with cut stone steps with basalt gravel, steel edging, and synthetic lawn. Guest parking is connected to the front door with more cut stone steps meandering through plant beds create easy access for guests. Plant beds along the house soften up the facade.

Cut stone steps create a connection to the guest parking areas, driveway island and the front door. Utilizing a select few materials throughout the frontyard space provide a softer harmonious feel. Bringing lines across the spaces provides connectivity between spaces even with the driveway.
