Failing concrete patios in a sloped suburban yard were the catalyst for this design.
Our client knew what they wanted, but not how to make it all happen in their challenging backyard.
Access was tight and that concrete was THICK! however the final result is a beautiful, mixed-use space which provides so much value to our clients’ lives.
Fitting a new deck with a bar and a timber pavilion into this yard, especially with the elevation changes presented, was a permit challenge, however with careful planning and guidance we were able to achieve everything we had set out to do.
The bar area rises up through the deck and anchors the space, while it also provides ample room for grilling, chilling and fulfilling.
The Douglas Fir pavilion provides coverage for all-season dining and lounging, with lights, fans and heaters for every situation.
Privacy for the hot tub is provided by a louvered cedar screen, and along the patio a post and beam structure contains hardware to support a hammock during the day and a movie screen at night!
Green space is available for lawn games and simple plantings provide softness while keeping maintenance hours to a minimum.
