Bahama Front Entry Upgrade

Recently, one of our long term clients came to us with an issue that had been plaguing her since she moved into her new home. The issue involved the front entry at her home. She wanted a new entry that accentuated the front entrance, because there had been some confusion from visitors about the primary entrance. Based on the topography and orientation of the home, some visitors would attempt to enter the home through a “private area” as opposed to what should have been the front door. The general contractors at Prince & Sons were brought in on this exterior remodeling project to create and implement a redesigned front entry. Because of the orientation and modern style of this home, there was no clear front entrance. Some of the components of the design were obvious, such as building a set of steps from a lower parking area to a raised courtyard for easy accessibility. Other parts of the design required more thought. The primary challenge with this project was designing a budget conscious structure that led to the front door location, but wasn’t excessively large and didn’t take away from the overall style of the home. After a handful of design options were passed between the homeowners and the experienced contractors at Prince & Sons, both parties agreed upon a pyramid style of steps, which would offer the perfect way to draw visitors from the lower parking area to the newly redesigned front entry.
