This couple with lovely kids are New Yorkers that wanted their Florida getaway to reflect their desire for a neutral palette with a pops of color in a contemporary setting. I designed the LR custom cabinetry to be elegant but functional as well incorporating a desk that can be concealed by closing the sliding barn doors to reveal their lovely glass collection on either side. The kitchen is a retrofit as the original cabinets were all brushed aluminum. We left the bottom cabinets and replaced the upper doors with a warm riftcut oak. I
lifted the center island off the toekick and added feet to lighten the feel. The black backsplash and countertops were removed and replaced with white glass and stainless inserts. The Master bedroom is a gorgeous respite in the neutral palette with blue accents as used throughout and the upholstered headboard is L shaped with a bridge across the ceiling which connects to the opposing wall housing recessed lights and LED light channels that twinkle at night.
