This renovation of an existing house takes best advantage of a steep site with excellent views of downtown Austin. Three new outdoor spaces look out at the skyline under the shade of a gorgeous oak tree in the front yard. The balcony, trellised entry, and deck off the master bedroom also serve to add a layer of sound protection between the interior spaces and the busy street. A flight of stairs up to the front door is redesigned with new steps, planters and a water feature. The living room is rebuilt with a higher ceiling and glazed southern wall. Lastly, the interior stair is renovated to open up circulation space at the heart of the house.
