Basalt Patio and Fountain
Inspired by the Portland Japanese Gardens. The client wanted to be able enjoy his property without requiring rubber boots. I moved 50 tons of dirt uphill and recycled an old pond into a bubbling fountain. Installed 250 square feet of Castohn Linear Slate, installed rustic basalt flagstone, and created a uniquely Japanese feeling pathway so he can walk from upper patio to lower patio and enjoy his custom smoker bbq. In the process, i made several hidden adjustments to drainage issues, rerouting water away from his sump pump, in an attempt to stop the seasonal ponding that happens in his lawn.
