Basement Remodel - Adding a Bedroom

The client's home contained a small room in the basement which had at one time perhaps been used as a dark room. Small dark and awkward, it offered very limited options and could not serve as a legal bedroom due to the lack of emergency egress access. Careful expansion and installation of a Bilco StakWel emergency egress window well, transformed this basement area into a beautiful bright basement bedroom.

The existing room was tucked in awkwardly behind the basement stairs. A sleeper floor exacerbated the head height issues in the space.
