This was your classic case of what to do with an illegal apartment in the basement of a newly purchased home to meet the owner's taste in the sporting life and the outdoors! An avid wind surfer, skier and pool player, we took all of the things that she loved, including her father's pool table, and turned it into a gender neutral space for entertaining her friends. Removing traditional basement windows, we used reclaimed barn wood and glass block throughout the space to create a warm but open venue for her to enjoy all season long. Fun fact - she absolutely loves cats and so we managed to incorporate that passion into one of the paint colors for this room - Benjamin Moore's Kitten Whiskers - can you guess where we used it?
