Adding style to one of the many, many small, one bedroom or studio sized cookie cutter condos in suburban Virginia is both easy and challenging at the same time. Many home builders try to add "texture" to an otherwise blah space by cutting into walls to detract from perfectly square rooms that create that small box, creating a decorator's nightmare in placing adult sized furniture. Using blue hues and a mixture of mid-century forms with otherwise modern elements, we were able to quickly add warmth and a sense of home for this client on a specific second home budget.
