Bay Harbour Accessible

Last year, I had the privilege of working with 3 couples who made dramatic transformations that would allow each of them to remain in their "forever" home. Some naysayers might think undertaking such extensive remodeling projects is unnecessary for clients in their 80's, but these remodel warriors braved dust, inconvenience and frustration to create new and modern spaces that function as beautifully as they look.
This bathroom began as a warren of small spaces and too many doors-- doors that were inconvenient to users of both the adjoining bedrooms and the bathroom. Too many mishaps in the tub area mandated a change. Originally, a wall divided the bathroom into vanity/dressing area and wet area/water closet. Removal of the dividing wall and new door to the bathroom was created in the hallway, closing two of the doors at either end of the vanity. A single, open space was created, which now allows the user to move freely and safely within the space.
To complete the transformation, the couple added a pneumatic elevator in the entry hall--see my earlier post dated 5 September 2017 for progress photos. This very handsome and modern addition to a very traditional setting will allow this high-spirited and energetic couple tp enjoy their neighborhood, collections, and conveniences for as long as they choose.
