Breaking Boundaries
Now empty nesters, a doctor duo felt it was time to transform their confined and impractical master bathroom into something open and functional. Design issues included limited storage and wasted space, and the existing envelope limited the possibilities of a new floor plan.
As a solution, an exterior porch was taken in, gaining 168 square feet and creating a large walk-in closet with ample storage. New skylights flood natural light into the space; combined with wood plank porcelain tile floors and a flat pebbled shower floor provide the warmth the customers desired. The homeowners also loved elegantly, classic finishes such as crisp, white beaded-inset cabinetry with crystal knobs, and quartz counters resembling marble. A large full height linen cabinet that stretches over four and a half feet, along with floor to ceiling storage on both sides of the sinks, was added to solve storage issues of the past. Two large framed plate glass mirrors, one over the pedestal sinks and the other over a long makeup vanity, allow one to experience every view of the bathroom at once. A jetted soaker tub provides therapeutic features requested, and two new pedestals sinks pay homage to the couples existing space. Among many technological features, is a flat screen television over the tub and an electronic toilet, and heated floors.
This project has been one of the most dramatic transformations we have seen. This new bright, airy, and elegant space has become a sanctuary of which the couple is very proud.
