Brockloch Bothy
A Galloway farming couple approached Sam Booth enquiring about planning permission to site a static caravan on their land to generate additional income with a holiday let. Sam felt a static caravan would undermine the beauty of the land and made them an offer - to design and build a building under the same planning criteria as a static caravan and within their budget, with the condition that he could keep the design rights for the building. They put their trust in Sam and he built them Brockloch Bothy, designed to be completely off-grid
The project gained the attention of Channel 4's “George Clarkes Amazing Spaces”, which exposed the idea to a wide audience, generating alot of interest. The ECHO workshop was set up Galloway and a small team of local craftsmen recruited to help bring Sam's creations to life.
