My "Raku" series incorporates my love of raku pottery, my fascination of Japanese Kanji characters, and my passion in woodworking. I use acrylic texture that resembles raku pottery; thin pieces of wood to form parts of Kanji symbols; and deeply saturated color. This painting is bronze and black – a very elegant and rich combination. The kanji character means “painting” or “brushstroke”. The painting is on 24” x 36” x 1.5" museum grade gallery wrapped canvas. The sides are painted black so framing is optional. It is wired and ready to hang.
