This Capitol Hill home for two busy professionals needed an update. Old cabinetry, appliances and a closed floor plan had these homeowners dreaming of open layouts and a refreshed look. While their remodeling agenda included the whole house, we started phase one of the remodel with the main floor. The connections between the rooms on the main floor were enhanced. The wall between the kitchen and family room was removed to create a bright interactive space, a tiny short staired staircase reworked and opened to the lower hall, french doors in the family room look out to the garden, and big beautiful sliding pocket doors instantly provide connection to the kitchen and dining room.
