Carmen Residence

Bringing the family together was the incentive for a gracious Mom to split her property and help create a space for her daughter and son-in-law’s new home.
With a limited budget, the couple requested a small footprint and a simple, uncomplicated design to keep the costs down. That said, they wanted to create interest in the interior design as well as the roof structure. To accomplish this, the design incorporates vaulted ceilings in the living room to take advantage of the views to the north, and dropped wall lines at the entry and pantry. The south facing roof enables the full benefit of solar panels, which the slope provides for and a one car garage with expanded carport, which allows the home to feel larger than it is.
