Casey Key, Florida

With views of the Bay and the Gulf of Mexico, this house was stripped back during the large remodeling and opened up to create a calm and serene space. Unique architectural elements and simple neutral furnishings and fabrics were chosen to compliment the home. The owners of this Casey Key house wanted to infuse it with a more modern spirit. Classic, neutral furnishings, mixed with soft colors and textures, were used throughout. Fully furnished and accessorized as a turn-key residence, the vibe here is all about relaxing and getting away from it all.
New windows, and modern materials and textural elements were then added; the end result being a clean and simply decorated environment that better reflects its new owners. I reworked on the space planning of the house for a more practical use, for example the family room facing the water became the dining room. And the old dining room became “her” room.
We opened the existing pantry to welcome a back room with a sink and dish storage. I wanted the cooking area to be useful so I created an aluminium cooking corner. On the left cooking gas ranch and on the right the convection ovens.
The quartz countertop and waterfall became the central point of the kitchen where entertainment could easily take place. Kitchen became spacious and bright to accommodate friends and family. The pendants were bought at a local lighting store Light up your life.
I reworked on the space planning of certain rooms of the house for a more practical use. For example the family room facing the water became the dining room. And the old dining room became “her” room across from her husband’s office. Ivory leather chairs from Design Within Reach were purchased to bring the elegance to the room and to create a warm and welcoming surroundings.
Each detail was important in this 9 month processes and remodeling.
I sold 90% of their old furniture and replaced what they wanted to keep through the house, like rugs, accessories, mirrors, artwork, etc… Even their master bedroom set that my clients wanted to keep at first, was at last sold with the rest of the furniture.
I proposed 4 colors for each guest bedroom to my client, she decided on coral and turquoise colors with a base color white for each bedroom.
The master bathroom has a very large vanity with a light gray countertop Caesarstone quartz. I wanted to have a pure line drawers with modern hardware.
I had to facilitate access to the tub and shower, so I designed this open shower with linear drain, niche and modern plumbing fixture. We enlarge also the frosted window to welcome light and sun into the master bathroom.
I love when clients are calling me back… I had to propose style of chandelier and install one for their 17’ ceiling in the living room. Ace Electric spend numerous hours and few ladders and scaffolding to accomplish this job but the result was stunning.
After 6 hours, we installed the Big O from Moooi and my clients were very happy.
