This kitchen was only connected to the Dining Room through a small doorway, with a poor layout and no connection to the outside deck. By opening up with wall between the two rooms, the Dining Room has now become an active part of the house. The archway between the rooms is mirrored in the stone arch over the range. Extending the cabinets all the way to the ceiling accentuated the height of both spaces making the rooms feel more spacious and open. We also created a new bar area in an adjacent family room.
