Our goals for the interior renovation of this 1,500 SF duplex penthouse, were to “make it a stunning, sexy, one-of-a-kind home; and consummately New York”. We deployed digital design/fabrication methods off-site, including CNC milling to create wall panels resembling the Manhattan nightscape when back-lit with LEDs. With the origami folded-plate steel and Corian stair, the aesthetic and structural criteria were met by CNC water-jet cutting.

This project received an award for exemplary use of structural steel from the American Institute of Steel Construction in July of 2012.
