A suburban couple wanted a kitchen with more work space and lots of functional storage as well as a raised bar are for children to hang out and do homework. Keeping the dining table in the kitchen was also a must-have.
The peninsula was removed and a long island was added to hold a cooktop, provide more work space and anchor a raised bar.
Standard oak cabinets were replaced with stained cherry cabinets in a soft pillowed door style. Classic soapstone counter tops kept a country vibe complimented with a modern iridescent glass back splash tile. A scraped hickory floor works nicely in the transitional space. All of their storage needs were met with specialty and custom pullouts and tall pantry cabinets on the wall behind the island.
The new galley layout now provides all the space and storage this family needed to fit their busy lifestyle!
