Before this couple closed on their new home, they reached out to Pheasant Lane Designs. While they were excited to relocate from a small Jersey City apartment to a spacious house, the home was dated. The two (a yoga instructor and pharmaceutical professional) had very different styles, but we successfully melded their Boho European chic and mid-century modern aesthetics. We advised them on pieces to keep from the previous owner’s estate and helped to pull in the husband’s family heirlooms as well. Material sourcing was key in the full renovation of the master bath. The result is a highly-tactile, soothing experience with terrazzo cement tile floors, real paua shell sconces and weathered zellige tile. Throughout the home, PLD refinished the wood floors and selected all of the paint colors. The triumph of this project may have been our solution to the tight hallway connecting the master suite and a meditation room. We installed French panel sliding doors with privacy glass and mirrors to reflect light and create a moment in and of itself in this previously uninspiring space.
