This speculative build in Chevy Chase had its challenges. The site was steep and gave us issue with height, but what it did allow us to do, was to fully utilize the basement. Not only is it usable space, but it is actually used more than the family room. The steep grade allowed us to design 12 foot ceilings and add transom windows as well as a deck off of the recreation room. The craftsmanship used throughout the home is beautiful. The custom mahogany front & garage doors really set this house apart from the street.
