One of my favorite tree decorating tips is in the lighting plan. First tuck in twinkle lights down the center of the tree close to the trunk. Then add your regular lights to the outside. Your tree comes to life without being too busy. The result is magical!

If you're a village person, don't forget the landscaping! You can create a great scene with less buildings by adding plenty of landscaping. You can get a big village look in a smaller space.

My favorite part is setting up a park for the town to enjoy. I use a piece of green velvet fabric for the base so the snow stays where I put it. You can use one of the small boxes under the fabric to make hills and slopes for sledding. You can also stack and cover boxes for tiered display which creates better viewing of your collection. It is also a space saving way to display more.
