Our clients had a sizable pantry that they barely used. With a big kitchen, they didn’t need the excess storage. Susan Currie Design was called in to make it something more fun – a deluxe coffee bar!

The most important aspect of the room is, of course, the coffee maker – we found a great built-in espresso machine from Miele; it makes everything from black coffee to a latte macchiato with the push of a button. It’s self-cleaning and plumbed so the only thing to refill is the coffee beans.

We designed custom cabinets to fit in the small space, for more attractive storage. We also included a refrigerator in the design for catering trays and extra desserts during parties or larger family gatherings. A small bar sink completes the space.

The coffee bar ties in with the adjoining kitchen via the matching backsplashes and countertops. French doors and a sparkling light fixture in the coffee bar add some glamour, making it feel like a special morning destination!
