Initially a sloped roof design, I was looking to create an alternate look for someone drawn to clean simple lines and flat roofs. Keeping the materials minimal (concrete base, brick & stucco) and low maintenence also a priority. Though concieved for a rural property, the design would also work within an urban setting for the client who likes privacy at the street-side Entry Court (the one large window to right of entry door is a stairwell to basement). Viewed from the eastern exposure, the design reveals more openess to light and the outdoors as the Living Room, Dining Room and Mstr BR all open directly to a singular outdoor terrace - allowing generous quantities of morning light into these areas. The Kitchen, part of an open plan concept, also looks towards these outdoor areas. At just under 2200 SF, this right-sized plan offers a client rooms with pleasing dimensions that dont feel cramped... 3 BR's, 2 BA's... a Mstr Suite with generous Walk-In Closet...Mstr Bath with double vanity & separate toilet and tiled shower area...a mudroom/laundry and a Main Lvl Bonus Rm that could be used as an exercise room, office, studio etc. What do you think?
