This interior design client reached out to me with her newly purchased home. After building trust and adhering to her two rules – can’t change the green paint color and no new furniture – we began with a mood board, bounced ideas off one another and ultimately created a dream space. This was my second formal project, and my client wanted coastal, light, white, blues and some of my additional ideas that centered around calm and fresh. I chose a sectional for the space to allow for more cozy and intimate seating. The art I felt needed to be serene, the lighting soft, the tables a little more rough and the rest just pretty. This is what we ended up with: I absolutely love decorating screen porches as they can truly be an extension of your home. One free extra room, yes, please! My client (see her bedroom and den here) had a very large space outdoors. It’s a typical rectangle, and when I started there was nothing on it but a grill. We added a fun rug, white tables and drapes, and pops of blue and green.
